I have thrift store envy

I live in a relatively small town and this past weekend, we were off to the "big city", and what did I decide to do while I was there?  That's right, I went thrift shopping!  Bigger cities always seem to have way more "good stuff" than my small town, but maybe that's just because I don't go that often.  Either way, I'm jealous.

I just recently started thrift shopping.  It's funny because I used to be a thrift store snob!  It's true.  Sorry, don't think I'm snooty or something.  I remember when I was little, my mom used to go "treasure hunting" and I didn't care for it.  I thought the stores smelled funny (and I still do) and quite often I'd run across some mysterious sticky substance on a toy or something (that still happens too).  Years later, I'm the thrift store junkie and my mom doesn't go at all!  I must admit, I still fill the need to pull out hand sanitizer the second I walk out the door after rummaging through all sorts of junk treasures.

Look at the load I got this time...
and also these ugly things...
I have plans for everything.  Hopefully it all turns out how I envision it in my head.  Notice my little helper wanted to be a part of the pictures again.  I love her.
and here is my favorite little solid wood "treasure"...
The total for all of this was $27.00!  I know you couldn't pay some people $27.00 to take all that, but just stay tuned for some good ol' fashioned transformations and see what I have in store for it all.

Man, I need to go thrift store shopping with you! I don't have the creative mindset to know what has potential! I'm anxious to see what you do with those parrot cage things. They look kind of cool!
