I made a few of these recipe card holders as gifts last Christmas and also one for myself using THIS tutorial from Shanty 2 Chic. This was the first of three recipe holders that I made and the worst one by the way. I didn't realize just how fast the wood would soak up the wood stain and so it ended up looking pretty sloppy. You live and learn I guess. The other ones looked a lot better so I gave those to my mom and mother-in-law.
I also made magnets to go with them using fabric covered buttons and then I just glued a magnet on the back. If you want an actual tutorial for that you can find one HERE. Oh and notice the cute metal pear there...I got that for 35 cents at Tai Pan! Score! I love getting things for cheap.
Wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and your sweet comments. I love your blog, and can't wait to see more!! I am absolutely drooling over this recipe card holder. If only I had found you a few weeks ago. I just paid for something at an antique store that's not nearly as pretty!!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the recipe card holder!! It looks like something the Shanty 2 Chic girls would do. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd since I've completely stalked out your blog now...I'm going to become a follower. :)
